Monday 30 March 2015: The Warringah Council today announced it will embrace the latest innovation in online navigation by becoming the first NSW Council to adopt and fully deploy new .sydney domain names.

The Council’s website is now more intrinsically linked to Sydney via its new domain name,

Mayor of Warringah, Michael Regan said the new .sydney domain names will be used to provide better online services to the community and help promote Warringah and the northern beaches to national and international markets.

“We are continually looking to showcase this area as a destination, to improve its profile and boost economic development” .

“.sydney domain names easily locate us in Sydney and align us with local residents and businesses. Our new domain names will work in conjunction with our existing, award-winning website to maximise the impact of our online presence.”

It outlines suggested scenarios for the future of the Northern Beaches region and provides an outlet for public comment.

.sydney domain names recently became available to all eligible NSW residents and service providers to the State. They have already been adopted by some of Sydney’s most iconic businesses, such as Luna Park (, BridgeClimb Sydney ( and Sydney Fish Market (
